Lexi J. Robinson is the Program Associate for Ascend with the Aspen Institute’s Family Prosperity initiative. In her role, she supports the design, planning, and execution of Ascend’s Family Prosperity Innovation Community as it continues to amplify methods and principles for comprehensive family supportive policies.

Prior to joining Ascend, Lexi worked in the Communications and Development Department at the National Community Reinvestment Coalition – where she contributed to the organization’s storytelling and outreach efforts as well as supported fundraising and partnership strategies – served as an Americorps Member for City Year DC, and Events and Outreach Coordinator for the Sadie Collective. At the Sadie Collective, Lexi took lead in the planning and execution of strategic partnership opportunities with organizational partners such as the Brookings Institution and the Urban Institute. With the Sadie Collective’s chief goal being to eliminate the barriers for Black women in economics and related fields, Lexi’s execution and relationship leveraging has resulted in providing hundreds of Black women long overdue visibility within the profession. Lexi brings with her a complex view of equity and justice work and an array of program management tactics that she feels honored to add to the Ascend team.

Lexi is originally from Novi, Michigan and holds a BS in Nonprofit and Public Administration from Central Michigan University.

Ascend at the Aspen Institute

Mar. 2021 - Present

  • Manages the day to day operations of the Aspen Family Prosperity Innovation Community, a cohort of 20 partner organizations and 14 advisors funded to pilot and scale innovations in family supportive policy and practice.

  • Responsible for developing, executing, and leading logistical support for a series of monthly topical discussion, multi-day virtual and in-person convenings, and externally facing webinars.

  • Supports strategic communications objectives by collecting and assessing survey data, tracking and collecting partner deliverables and activities, and developing memos and two pagers for external communications.

  • Partners with management and program evaluator to measure and assess the status of internal deliverables and develop multi-year strategies for program impact.

  • Manages and produces a podcast series centering topics of social justice, diversity and inclusion, and current events.

  • Designs and edits all social media and graphic design campaigns for the website and all other social networking platforms.

  • Selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants to take lead in the planning and execution of strategic partnership opportunities with organizational partners such as Brookings Institution, Urban Institute, the Federal Reserve, and PNC Bank.

  • Manages communication with multiple partners regarding potential collaborations by utilizing productivity and organizing tools such as Google Suites, Trello, Calendly, Zoom, Slack and their varying integrations.

  • Seamlessly communicates deadlines, conflicts, agendas, budgetary requirements, and time sensitive adjustments with both the Sadie Collective team and external partners while tracking and documenting all correspondence

  • Served as a teacher's aid and mentor to 7th and 8th grade specialized education students at Cardozo Education Campus.

 

  • Collaboratively designed and implemented individualized support for the development of students' social emotional learning and growth.​

  • Assumed the role of Outreach & Communications Leader for the team by organizing in-kinding efforts, managing social media platforms, overseeing social media campaigns/initiatives, and collaborating with CYDC's Development Team when opportunities arise.
